To get the most solar energy converted to electricity, solar panels should be oriented to face the sun (south) to get sunlight hitting the surface throughout the day. Ideally, the panels should be tilted to the same angle as the latitude of your location. However, depending on the type of structure and wind conditions, tilt can be reduced without a significant impact on energy generation.
